TELLURIUM METALLICUM 6C, 12C, 30C, 200C, 1M, 10M USES AND SYMPTOMS
TELLURIUM METALLICUM
(The Metal Tellurium)
Tell.
This remedy presents marked skin issues (herpes circinatus), along with spinal, eye, and ear symptoms. The back is extremely sensitive, with pains throughout the body. Offensive discharges and a slow onset of symptoms (Rad-br.) are common, as well as sacral and sciatic pains.
Head: The patient may feel neglectful and forgetful, with pain on the left side of the head and forehead, especially above the left eye. There can be distortion and twitching of the left facial muscles; while speaking, the left corner of the mouth may be drawn upwards and to the left (facial palsy). The patient fears being touched in sensitive areas. There is congestion in the head and nape, followed by weakness and a faint feeling in the stomach. Itching on the scalp and red spots are also seen.
Eyes: Eyelids may become thickened, inflamed, and itchy (blepharitis). Issues like pterygium, pustular conjunctivitis, and cataracts (following ocular lesions) are treated by aiding the absorption of infiltrates in the iris and choroid.
Ears: Eczema behind the ears, catarrh of the middle ear (otitis media), and acrid discharges with a fishy smell (otorrhea) are common. The ear canal may itch, swell, or throb, often leading to deafness.
Nose: Symptoms include coryza, tearing, and hoarseness, which improve in open air (All-c.). The nose may be obstructed, and salty phlegm is hawked from the posterior nares.
Stomach: A craving for apples and an empty, weak feeling are typical, along with heartburn.
Rectum: Itching (pruritus ani et perinei) follows every stool.
Back: Pain is felt in the sacrum and from the last cervical to the fifth dorsal vertebra, which is very sensitive and worsened by touch (Chinin-s., Phos.). Sciatica is worse on the right side, during coughing, straining, and at night, accompanied by a sensitive vertebral column. The tendons behind the knees may feel contracted.
Skin: Itching affects the hands and feet, with herpetic spots and ringworm (Tub.). Affected areas emit offensive odors, with conditions like barber’s itch and stinging sensations. Fetid exhalations (Sulph.) and offensive foot sweat are noted. Eczema may develop behind the ears and on the occiput, with circular patches (eczema circinata).
Modalities: Symptoms worsen at night, during rest, in cold weather, from friction, coughing, laughing, lying on the painful side, and when touched.
Relationship: Related remedies include Rad-br., Sel., and Tetradymitum (from Georgia and North Carolina, containing Bismuth, Tellurium, and Sulphur), which address coccygodynia, nail ulceration, and pain in hands, ankles, heels, and tendons (tendo-Achilles); also Sep., Ars., Rhus-t.
Dose: Sixth potency or higher. Its action takes time to develop and lasts for an extended period.

selection of the potency
Individualization:
- Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the individual, not just the disease. The unique symptoms and characteristics of the person are crucial in determining the most suitable potency.
Intensity of Symptoms:
- The intensity of the symptoms guides the choice of potency. If the symptoms are intense and acute, a lower potency (e.g., 6C, 30C) might be considered. For chronic conditions with less intensity, higher potencies (e.g., 200C, 1M) may be appropriate.
Sensitivity of the Patient:
- Some individuals are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies, while others may require higher potencies. The practitioner considers the patient’s sensitivity when selecting the potency.
Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:
- Lower potencies are often used for acute conditions, while higher potencies may be considered for chronic or long-standing issues.
Previous Response to Potencies:
- The patient’s response to previous homeopathic treatments helps guide the choice of potency. If a particular potency has been effective in the past, it may be repeated or adjusted as needed.
Vital Force and Susceptibility:
- Homeopathy views illness as a disturbance in the vital force. The practitioner assesses the patient’s overall vitality and susceptibility to determine the appropriate potency.
Aggravation or Amelioration:
- The direction of the symptom response (aggravation or amelioration) after taking a remedy can influence the choice of potency.
Miasmatic Considerations:
- In classical homeopathy, the concept of miasms (inherited disease tendencies) is considered. The practitioner take this into account when selecting the potency.
Practitioner Experience:
- The experience and preference of the homeopathic practitioner play a role. Some practitioners may have success with certain potencies based on their clinical experience.
SAFETY INFORMATION
- Do not exceed the recommended dose by physician

Medicine images use for reference only selection of homeopathic medicine depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and overall constitution. Moreover, homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the individual as a whole. In addition to addressing the physical symptoms, it takes into account the emotional and mental state of the person. Consequently, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner for personalized treatment.
