MEDORRHINUMMEDORRHINUM

(The Gonorrheal Virus)

Med.
A powerful and deep-acting medicine often indicated for chronic ailments due to suppressed gonorrhea. It is used for women with chronic pelvic disorders and chronic rheumatism. It causes great disturbance and irritability of the nervous system, with intolerable, tensive pain, and quivering, tingling nerves. It can stunt children’s growth and cause chronic catarrhal conditions. Symptoms include a dirty nose, enlarged tonsils, thick yellow mucus from nostrils, and thickened lips from mouth breathing. There may be a state of collapse and trembling, with a history of sycosis. It often restores a gonorrheal discharge and intensifies all sensations, causing edema of limbs and dropsy of serous sacs, and can lead to disseminated sclerosis.

Mind: Weak memory, loses the thread of conversation, cannot speak without weeping, feels time passes too slowly, is in a great hurry, hopeless of recovery, has difficulty concentrating, fears going insane, has exalted sensibility, is nervous and restless, fears the dark and feels as if someone is behind her, feels melancholy with suicidal thoughts.

Head: Burning pain in the brain, worse in the occiput, heavy head drawn backward (like in epilepsy), headaches from jarring, exhaustion, or hard work, weight and pressure in the vertex, dry, crisp hair, itchy scalp, dandruff.

Eyes: Feels as if staring at everything, eyeballs ache, sensation of sticks in the eyes, irritated lids (blepharitis).

Ears: Partial deafness, pulsations, quick darting pains in the right ear.

Nose: Intense itching, cold tip, obstructed posterior nares, chronic nasal and pharyngeal catarrh.

Face: Pallor, acne, reddish blotches, small boils during menses.

Mouth: Brown, thick-coated tongue with blisters and canker sores on inner lips and cheeks.

Stomach: Coppery taste, sulphur eructations, ravenous hunger soon after eating, very thirsty, craving for liquor, salt, sweets, and warm drinks, pernicious vomiting during pregnancy.

Abdomen: Violent pain in the liver and spleen, more comfortable lying on the abdomen.

Rectum: Can only pass stool by leaning far back, painful lump sensation on the sphincter, fetid moisture oozing, intense anal itching.

Urinary: Painful tenesmus during urination, nocturnal enuresis, renal colic, slow urine flow.

Male: Nocturnal emissions with great weakness, impotence, gleet, sore urethra, urethritis, enlarged painful prostate with frequent painful urination.

Female: Intense pruritus, offensive profuse dark clotted menses, frequent urination during menses, sensitive spot near os uteri, thin acrid leucorrhea with fishy odor, sycotic warts on genitals, left-sided ovarian pain, sterility, metrorrhagia, intense menstrual colic, cold sore sensitive breasts.

Respiratory: Oppressed respiration, hoarseness while reading, chest and mammary pain, dry nocturnal cough, asthma, early phthisis, sore larynx, dyspnea (cannot exhale), cough relieved by lying on the stomach.

Extremities: Back pain with burning heat, heavy aching legs, restless legs at night, ankles turn easily, burning hands and feet, enlarged puffy finger joints, gouty concretions, tender heels and balls of feet, restless hands.

Sleep: Dreams of drinking, sleeps in knee-chest position.

Fever: Constant need to be fanned, chills up and down the back, cold legs, hands, and forearms, flashes of heat in the face and neck, night and hectic sweats.

Skin: Yellow, intense incessant itching, worse at night and when thinking of it, fiery red rash around the anus in babies, copper-colored spots, favus, tumors, and abnormal growths.

Modalities: Worse when thinking of the ailment, from daylight to sunset, heat, inland; better at the seashore, lying on the stomach, in damp weather.

Relationship: Compare with Galega officinalis, Lactuca virosa, Sulph., Syph., Zine.

Dose: Very high potencies are effective but should not be repeated often.

selection of the potency

  1. Individualization:

    • Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the individual, not just the disease. The unique symptoms and characteristics of the person are crucial in determining the most suitable potency.
  2. Intensity of Symptoms:

    • The intensity of the symptoms guides the choice of potency. If the symptoms are intense and acute, a lower potency (e.g., 6C, 30C) might be considered. For chronic conditions with less intensity, higher potencies (e.g., 200C, 1M) may be appropriate.
  3. Sensitivity of the Patient:

    • Some individuals are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies, while others may require higher potencies. The practitioner considers the patient’s sensitivity when selecting the potency.
  4. Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:

    • Lower potencies are often used for acute conditions, while higher potencies may be considered for chronic or long-standing issues.
  5. Previous Response to Potencies:

    • The patient’s response to previous homeopathic treatments helps guide the choice of potency. If a particular potency has been effective in the past, it may be repeated or adjusted as needed.
  6. Vital Force and Susceptibility:

    • Homeopathy views illness as a disturbance in the vital force. The practitioner assesses the patient’s overall vitality and susceptibility to determine the appropriate potency.
  7. Aggravation or Amelioration:

    • The direction of the symptom response (aggravation or amelioration) after taking a remedy can influence the choice of potency.
  8. Miasmatic Considerations:

    • In classical homeopathy, the concept of miasms (inherited disease tendencies) is considered. The practitioner take this into account when selecting the potency.
  9. Practitioner Experience:

    • The experience and preference of the homeopathic practitioner play a role. Some practitioners may have success with certain potencies based on their clinical experience.

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Avoid any strong smell in the mouth while taking medicine e.g. camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, hing

Medicine images use for reference only selection of homeopathic medicine depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and overall constitution. Moreover, homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the individual as a whole. In addition to addressing the physical symptoms, it takes into account the emotional and mental state of the person. Consequently, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner for personalized treatment.
