Affects kidneys severely, causing croupous nephritis and hemoglobinuria. Leads to parenchymatous nephritis with stomatitis, acute ulcerative and follicular stomatitis, noma, toxemic conditions in pregnancy (urinary symptoms), chronic nephritis, hepatitis, septicemia, and anemia.

Mouth: Excessive secretion of acrid saliva. Entire mucous membrane is red, swollen, with gray-based ulcers. Swollen tongue (glossitis). Aphthous and gangrenous stomatitis. Bad breath. Mercurial stomatitis (as a mouthwash).

Stomach: Feeling of weight in the epigastric and umbilical regions. Flatulence. Vomiting greenish-black matter (hematemesis).

Rectum: Profuse diarrhea with greenish mucus.

Urinary: Albuminous, scanty, suppressed urine. Hematuria, diuresis, nucleo-albumin and bile, high phosphoric acid, with low total solids.

Skin: Jaundice, itching, miliary or papular eruptions, discolored (chocolate).

Dose: Second to sixth potency. Use cautiously and locally, as it is poisonous.
