CHAMOMILLACHAMOMILLA

(German Chamomile)

Cham.

The main guiding symptoms of Chamomilla are mental and emotional, making it useful for various diseases. It’s frequently used for children’s ailments marked by peevishness, restlessness, and colic. Mild, calm, and gentle dispositions with sluggish, constipated bowels are not suited for Chamomilla.

Chamomilla patients are sensitive, irritable, thirsty, hot, and numb. It addresses oversensitivity from coffee and narcotic abuse, unendurable pains with numbness, and night sweats.

Mind: Restless whining. Child demands many things but rejects them when offered, moaning because desires are unmet. Quiet only when carried and petted. Impatient, intolerant of interruptions, extremely sensitive to pain, always complaining, spiteful, and snappish. Complaints from anger and vexation. Mental calmness contraindicates Chamomilla.

Head: Throbbing migraine in one-half of the brain. Inclined to bend the head backward. Hot, clammy forehead and scalp sweat.

Eyes: Smarting lids (blepharitis), yellow sclera, and spasmodic lid closure (blepharospasm).

Ears: Ringing, otalgia with soreness, swelling, and heat, causing distress. Stitching pain and obstructed feeling.

Nose: Sensitive to smells, coryza with sleeplessness.

Face: One cheek red and hot, the other pale and cold. Stitches in the jaw extending to the inner ear and teeth. Toothache worsened by warm drinks, coffee, and at night, causing distraction. Jerking tongue and facial muscles (convulsions). Distress in teething children (Calc-p., Ter.).

Mouth: Toothache from warmth, coffee, during pregnancy. Nocturnal salivation.

Throat: Swollen parotid and submaxillary glands (mumps, parotiditis). Pain and constriction as if from a plug.

Stomach: Foul eructations, nausea after coffee, sweating after eating or drinking, aversion to warm drinks. Yellow tongue, bitter taste, bilious vomiting (jaundice), acid regurgitation, and pressive gastralgia (Bry., Abies-n.).

Abdomen: Distended with gripping pain in the umbilical region and lumbosacral pain. Flatulent colic, hepatic colic, acute duodenitis (Kali-bi., chronic).

Stool: Hot, green, watery, fetid, slimy, with colic. Chopped white and yellow mucus like chopped eggs and spinach. Soreness of the anus, diarrhea during dentition, painful hemorrhoids.

Female: Uterine hemorrhages, profuse clotted dark blood with labor-like pains (dysmenorrhea). Spasmodic labor pains pressing upward (Gels.). Intolerance to pain (Caul., Caust., Gels., Hyos., Puls.). Inflamed, tender nipples, and tender infant’s breasts (mastitis). Yellow, acrid leucorrhea (Ars., Sep., Sulph.).

Respiratory: Hoarseness, hawking, raw larynx. Dry, tickling cough, suffocative chest tightness, bitter daytime expectoration. Rattling mucus in the child’s chest (asthma).

Back: Insupportable pain in loins and hips, lumbago, and stiff neck muscles.

Extremities: Violent rheumatic pains drive patient out of bed at night, compelled to walk. Burning soles at night (Sulph.). Ankles give way in the afternoon, paralytic loss of power in feet at night.

Sleep: Drowsiness with moaning, weeping, wailing during sleep; anxious, frightened dreams with half-open eyes.

Modalities: Worse from heat, anger, open air, wind, night. Better from being carried, warm wet weather.

Relationship: Compare: Cypr., Anth., Acon., Puls., Coff., Bell., Staph., Ign. Follows Belladonna in children’s diseases and Opium abuse. Rubus villosus for diarrhea of infancy with watery and clay-colored stools.

Antidotes: Camph., Nux-v., Puls. Complementary: Bell., Mag-c.

Dose: Third to thirtieth attenuation.CHAMOMILLA

selection of the potency

  1. Individualization:

    • Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the individual, not just the disease. The unique symptoms and characteristics of the person are crucial in determining the most suitable potency.
  2. Intensity of Symptoms:

    • The intensity of the symptoms guides the choice of potency. If the symptoms are intense and acute, a lower potency (e.g., 6C, 30C) might be considered. For chronic conditions with less intensity, higher potencies (e.g., 200C, 1M) may be appropriate.
  3. Sensitivity of the Patient:

    • Some individuals are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies, while others may require higher potencies. The practitioner considers the patient’s sensitivity when selecting the potency.
  4. Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:

    • Lower potencies are often used for acute conditions, while higher potencies may be considered for chronic or long-standing issues.
  5. Previous Response to Potencies:

    • The patient’s response to previous homeopathic treatments helps guide the choice of potency. If a particular potency has been effective in the past, it may be repeated or adjusted as needed.
  6. Vital Force and Susceptibility:

    • Homeopathy views illness as a disturbance in the vital force. The practitioner assesses the patient’s overall vitality and susceptibility to determine the appropriate potency.
  7. Aggravation or Amelioration:

    • The direction of the symptom response (aggravation or amelioration) after taking a remedy can influence the choice of potency.
  8. Miasmatic Considerations:

    • In classical homeopathy, the concept of miasms (inherited disease tendencies) is considered. The practitioner take this into account when selecting the potency.
  9. Practitioner Experience:

    • The experience and preference of the homeopathic practitioner play a role. Some practitioners may have success with certain potencies based on their clinical experience.

Medicine images use for reference only selection of homeopathic medicine depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and overall constitution. Moreover, homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the individual as a whole. In addition to addressing the physical symptoms, it takes into account the emotional and mental state of the person.
