NAJA TRIPUDIANSNAJA TRIPUDIANS

(Virus of the Cobra)

Naja.

Naja causes bulbar paralysis (L. J. Boyd). It doesn’t cause hemorrhage but edema, so victims often show minimal external injury, just a small scratch or puncture where the fangs struck. Beneath the wound, tissue is dark purple, and a large amount of viscid blood-like fluid gathers. The first symptom is intense burning pain at the bite. In humans, there’s a delay before further symptoms appear, averaging about an hour. Once symptoms start, they progress rapidly. Intoxication, followed by limb paralysis, loss of speech, swallowing difficulties, and loss of lip movement control occur. Saliva is ejected in large amounts, respiration slows and eventually stops, while consciousness remains. It is not hemorrhagic or septic like Lach or Crot-h. Its action targets the heart, causing valvular problems, blood surging upwards, dyspnea, and inability to lie on the left side. Symptoms include hypertrophy, valvular lesions, organs feeling drawn together, and high cold susceptibility. Heart symptoms are accompanied by forehead and temple pain, and diseases primarily related to motor cell degeneration lead to loss of sphincter control.

Mind: Constant brooding over imaginary problems, suicidal thoughts, depression, aversion to talking, blurred speech, melancholy, fear of being alone, and fear of rain.

Head: Pain in the left temple and orbit, extending to the occiput, with nausea and vomiting (migraine). Hay fever with a dry larynx, and suffocative spells after sleeping.

Eyes: Staring and ptosis of both lids.

Ears: Hearing illusions, ear pain, chronic otorrhea with black discharges smelling like herring brine.

Female: Neuralgia in the left ovary, effective for obscure pains in the left groin, especially post-operative, often seeming drawn to the heart.

Respiratory: Grasping at the throat with a choking sensation, irritating dry cough due to cardiac lesions, sticky mucus and saliva, asthmatic constriction in the evening, and asthma starting with coryza.

Heart: Dragging and anxiety in the precordia, sensation of weight on the heart, angina pains extending to the nape of the neck, left shoulder, and arm with anxiety and fear of death, pain in the forehead and temples with heart symptoms, irregular pulse, threatened heart paralysis, cold body, slow, weak, irregular, and tremulous pulse, acute and chronic endocarditis, palpitations, stitching pain in the heart region, damaged heart after infectious diseases, and marked low tension symptoms.

Sleep: Profound, like a log with stertorous breathing, typical of reptilian state.

Modalities: Worse from stimulants; better from walking or riding in open air.

Relationship: Compare with other serpent poisons like Bungarus fasciatus (Banded krait), which produces conditions similar to acute polioencephalitis and myelitis, both symptomatically and histologically, and Lachesis, Crotalus horridus, Spigelia, and Spongia.

Dose: Sixth to thirtieth potency.

selection of the potency

  1. Individualization:

    • Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the individual, not just the disease. The unique symptoms and characteristics of the person are crucial in determining the most suitable potency.
  2. Intensity of Symptoms:

    • The intensity of the symptoms guides the choice of potency. If the symptoms are intense and acute, a lower potency (e.g., 6C, 30C) might be considered. For chronic conditions with less intensity, higher potencies (e.g., 200C, 1M) may be appropriate.
  3. Sensitivity of the Patient:

    • Some individuals are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies, while others may require higher potencies. The practitioner considers the patient’s sensitivity when selecting the potency.
  4. Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:

    • Lower potencies are often used for acute conditions, while higher potencies may be considered for chronic or long-standing issues.
  5. Previous Response to Potencies:

    • The patient’s response to previous homeopathic treatments helps guide the choice of potency. If a particular potency has been effective in the past, it may be repeated or adjusted as needed.
  6. Vital Force and Susceptibility:

    • Homeopathy views illness as a disturbance in the vital force. The practitioner assesses the patient’s overall vitality and susceptibility to determine the appropriate potency.
  7. Aggravation or Amelioration:

    • The direction of the symptom response (aggravation or amelioration) after taking a remedy can influence the choice of potency.
  8. Miasmatic Considerations:

    • In classical homeopathy, the concept of miasms (inherited disease tendencies) is considered. The practitioner take this into account when selecting the potency.
  9. Practitioner Experience:

    • The experience and preference of the homeopathic practitioner play a role. Some practitioners may have success with certain potencies based on their clinical experience.

Medicine images use for reference only selection of homeopathic medicine depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and overall constitution. Moreover, homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the individual as a whole. In addition to addressing the physical symptoms, it takes into account the emotional and mental state of the person. Consequently, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner for personalized treatment.
