MURIATICUM ACIDUMMURIATICUM ACIDUM

(Muriatic Acid)

Mur-ac.

This acid has a strong affinity for the blood, creating a septic condition like that seen in severe fevers with high temperature and extreme weakness. The patient becomes so weak that they slide down the bed. Fluids decompose. Involuntary stools occur while urinating. There are hemorrhages, and the mouth and anus are primarily affected.

Mind: The patient is irritable, peevish, and fretful, with loud moaning, great restlessness, and silent suffering.

Head: Vertigo worsens when lying on the right side, with a heavy feeling in the occiput as if filled with lead. The sound of the voice is intolerable, and there is pain as if the brain is being crushed.

Nose: There is hemorrhage and intense sneezing.

Face: The lower jaw falls, and there are pimples, freckles, raw, dry, cracked lips.

Mouth: The tongue is pale, swollen, dry, leathery, and paralyzed, with deep ulcers and hard lumps. Epithelioma with bluish-red edges (Carb-ac.). The mouth is aphthous, with swollen gums and glands, fetid breath, and sordes on the teeth.

Throat: The uvula is swollen, with ulcers and false membranes (diphtheria). The throat is edematous, dark, and raw, and attempts to swallow cause spasms and choking.

Stomach: The sight or thought of meat is unbearable. There is sometimes a ravenous appetite and constant desire to drink. There is achlorhydria and food fermentation.

Rectum: There is a tendency for involuntary evacuations while urinating. Hemorrhoids are extremely sensitive to touch, causing pain even with toilet paper. There is anal itching and prolapse while urinating, and hemorrhoids during pregnancy are bluish, hot, with violent stitches.

Urinary: Urination cannot occur without simultaneous bowel movement.

Female: Menses appear too soon, with leucorrhea. During menses, there is soreness in the anus, and there are ulcers on the genitals.

Heart: The pulse is rapid, feeble, and small, intermitting every third beat.

Extremities: The limbs feel heavy, painful, and weak, with a tottering gait and pain in the Achilles tendon.

Fever: The extremities are cold, with heat without thirst. The fever is of a typhoid type, causing stupor, hemorrhages, restlessness, involuntary discharges, bed sores, and rapid, feeble pulse with excessive weakness.

Skin: There are papular and vesicular eruptions with great itching (Rhus-t.), carbuncles, foul-smelling ulcers on the lower extremities, livid scarlet fever with petechiae and scanty eruption, and eczema on the back of the hands.

Modalities: Symptoms are worse in damp weather and before midnight, and better when lying on the left side.

Relationship: Compare with Ph-ac., Ars., Bapt. Follows well after Bry, and Rhus-t. Antidote: Bry.

Dose: First to third potency.

selection of the potency

  1. Individualization:

    • Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating the individual, not just the disease. The unique symptoms and characteristics of the person are crucial in determining the most suitable potency.
  2. Intensity of Symptoms:

    • The intensity of the symptoms guides the choice of potency. If the symptoms are intense and acute, a lower potency (e.g., 6C, 30C) might be considered. For chronic conditions with less intensity, higher potencies (e.g., 200C, 1M) may be appropriate.
  3. Sensitivity of the Patient:

    • Some individuals are more sensitive to homeopathic remedies, while others may require higher potencies. The practitioner considers the patient’s sensitivity when selecting the potency.
  4. Acute vs. Chronic Conditions:

    • Lower potencies are often used for acute conditions, while higher potencies may be considered for chronic or long-standing issues.
  5. Previous Response to Potencies:

    • The patient’s response to previous homeopathic treatments helps guide the choice of potency. If a particular potency has been effective in the past, it may be repeated or adjusted as needed.
  6. Vital Force and Susceptibility:

    • Homeopathy views illness as a disturbance in the vital force. The practitioner assesses the patient’s overall vitality and susceptibility to determine the appropriate potency.
  7. Aggravation or Amelioration:

    • The direction of the symptom response (aggravation or amelioration) after taking a remedy can influence the choice of potency.
  8. Miasmatic Considerations:

    • In classical homeopathy, the concept of miasms (inherited disease tendencies) is considered. The practitioner take this into account when selecting the potency.
  9. Practitioner Experience:

    • The experience and preference of the homeopathic practitioner play a role. Some practitioners may have success with certain potencies based on their clinical experience.

Medicine images use for reference only selection of homeopathic medicine depends on the individual’s specific symptoms and overall constitution. Moreover, homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine that treats the individual as a whole. In addition to addressing the physical symptoms, it takes into account the emotional and mental state of the person. Consequently, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified homeopathic practitioner for personalized treatment.
